As official partner of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Hyundai Motor Company along with Hyundai New Zealand has delivered 23 vehicles as part of the prestigious ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2014, which began on the 13th January in Christchurch.
The ICC will be using a number of different Hyundai models during the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier and World Cup in 2015, which will take place in New Zealand and Australia. The vehicles, including the Elantra, i40 sedan and Santa Fe will be fully branded and used by ICC staff, VIPs and match officials.
ICC Project Manager, Chris Lander, was present at the handover ceremony and commented, “We are delighted that Hyundai is supporting the ICC World Cup Qualifiers and World Cup tournament here in New Zealand. This exciting tournament provides us with a fantastic opportunity to showcase the Hyundai product range to a broad audience of cricket fans.”
“The ICC values the partnership with Hyundai Motor Company and Hyundai New Zealand, which grows stronger with each event. The company’s provision of transportation for officials, VIPs and the working staff speaks to its dedicated commitment to the partnership.”
Hyundai Motor’s sponsorship has allowed the company to form closer ties with cricketing nations across the world, starting in 2011, when the ICC Cricket World Cup was hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The company is set to support the ICC World T20 2014 in Bangladesh as well as the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand.
